AutomationAn open-source DMS that actually gets used
Paperless-ngx and Windmill as a calm alternative to big document suites.
Incoming documents used to mean scanning, sticking barcode labels on paper and typing document type, business partner and transaction number in by hand. Slow, error-prone and licensed.
A calmer path for every document
The new workflow runs on open-source components, from intake to archive:
- Three intake channels: paper scan with separator sheets, XML e-invoices from a mailbox, and a watched folder on the NAS.
- Paperless-ngx splits batches, runs OCR and tags new documents; Windmill extracts the key fields on a schedule.
- Every document is checked against the ERP before it is written back. Anything that does not match goes to manual review.
Where it stands
Process analysis, target architecture, tool selection and risk assessment are done and documented as a decision paper. The implementation is underway.
The full write-up follows with the go-live.
